Last night David and I met up with Darion for a fun dinner date at Baby Blues BBQ in West Hollywood, CA so that we could catch up and say our farewells before Darion takes off to Japan with his father for 12 days. While it was a bit chilly out last night, we had a great time together suppin’ on delish BBQ:

Let me tell you about my Labor Day … it was full of a whole lotta nothin’. Since David had returned from his quick trip to San Francisco on Saturday and I returned from Detroit on Sunday we were both happy to lie low all day yesterday. For the most part, we just lazed about the house reveling in the fact that it was a quiet holiday. I did manage to run one errand last night tho, just to get out of the house. While I was home in Detroit, I found a bunch of vintage Swatch watches that I had left in my bedroom in my childhood home:

This afternoon I will be flying back home to Detroit, MI for the rest of the week to spend time with my family and friends there. Princess Zakiya recently celebrated her 5th birthday, my BFF Sarah celebrates her birthday this coming Saturday and my mom celebrates her birthday the following weekend … so I’m going back home to celebrate the births of some of the most important peeps in my life:

Last night David and I met up with Adriana for a quick dinner date at 8 oz. Burger Bar on Melrose Ave in West Hollywood, CA and we had a grand ol’ time:

Yesterday was a gloriously boring day for me … I loved every second of it. I spent the day being as lazy as possible before I made my way down to Manhattan Beach to chill for a bit with my friends Emma and Josh. I brought back some souvenirs from Paris, France so I wanted to get those delivered as soon as possible. We made our way to Pancho’s for a little snack and I happily kicked back a couple of Michelada drinks:

This afternoon David and I will be flying back East to attend his cousin Scott’s wedding in Massachusetts tomorrow. Trust me, the last thing I want to do this weekend is to fly round-trip across the country … but I love Scott and I’m so happy that he has found the love of his life to share the rest of his life with:

Today is a bit of a rough day for me … as a day of celebration has turned into a day of sadness. David and I enjoyed a great visit with his aunts Judy and Susan at their home here in Manhattan last night chatting away on their rooftop patio as we watched lightning roll across the city. Afterward, we met up with our good friend Kanani for a quick drink in the West Village.
